Our Programs

Essential Restorative Support Program

The Essential Restorative Support Program provides financial assistance for 3D nipple and areola tattoos, the final phase of breast reconstruction, for patients diagnosed with breast cancer or a genetic mutation who live in Miami-Dade, Monroe, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Grants may be awarded to cover part of the cost or the entire cost and the amount awarded will depend on each individual circumstance.  Payment will be made directly to the Medical Tattoo Professional Partner.  We cannot reimburse for restorative tattooing that has already occurred. 

Eligibility

  • Diagnosed with breast cancer or a genetic mutation.
  • Medically cleared by plastic surgeon for nipple and areola tattoos within the next six months. 
  • Located in South Florida, residing in Miami-Dade, Monroe, Broward or Palm Beach counties.
  • Demonstrates financial hardship. 

Grant Process

  • Submit application online or via mail or send an email to schedule a phone interview.
  • Applications will be reviewed by a committee.
  • Decisions will be made once all information is submitted and may take several weeks for notification.
  • Payments will be made directly to the provider.

Breast Reconstruction Program Fund

The Pink Glimmers Foundation provided the initial funding to establish the Breast Reconstruction Program Fund at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.  This fund will advance research, education and training in breast reconstruction.

Advocacy

Pink Glimmers Foundation supports public policy initiatives through legislation, regulation, funding and other actions at both the state and federal level. 

  • Funding for research;
  • Legislation and regulation regarding insurance coverage for all aspects of breast reconstruction and survivorship care; and
  • Coverage of breast reconstruction and other aspects of cancer care through Medicare and Medicaid.
